After crossing the Thamarassery Ghat and traveling five kilometers from Lakkidi, on the Pookode Lake-Padinjarathara Road, a concrete path leads up Vaidyagiri Hill, ending at the entrance to the temple. Here, you are greeted by approximately 260 stone steps, which lead to the top of the hill and the beautiful shrine of Lord Murugan. The temple is surrounded by medicinal plants and is called "Vaidyagireeshan" (Lord of the Healing Mountain) due to its association with these herbs.
